The shrub has a very dense, thick, and symmetrical spherical crown with short fan-shaped shoots. The annual growth rate is from 2.5 to 6 cm. At the age of 10 years, the plant height is usually 25–60 cm, and the maximum dimensions of a mature shrub reach 0.8 m in height and up to 1 m in diameter.
The scale-like needles have a golden-yellow or lemon-yellow color in the warm season, which changes to a bronze or orange-brown hue in the autumn-winter period. The variety has high resistance to diseases, pests, and frost down to -29°C...-34°C. Due to dense branching, the crown is resistant to snow damage.
The plant prefers sunny locations and moderately moist, fertile, drained soils with a slightly acidic reaction. In the shade, the crown becomes loose, and the golden color fades. The variety tolerates urban conditions well and is suitable for decorating small gardens, rockeries, borders, and container cultivation.
