The Blizard variety was obtained by converting genotypes of the Merviot variety and other breeding genotypes to the tetraploid level (4n). The plant is characterized by an early or medium-early maturity and high endurance.

This variety is intended for producing high-quality fodder and is suitable for establishing hayfields and forage lands. The highest productivity of the crop is observed in the second year of use.
