The Diper variety is a diploid forage crop used for hay, silage, or green mass production. The plant possesses varietal resistance to Sclerotinia, caused by the fungus Sclerotinia trifoliorum.

During comparative studies of morphological traits, the average plant height for this variety was recorded in the range of 60.0 to 69.7 cm.
