The variety «Lero» is a historically significant diploid variety of red clover bred in Germany. It was used in agriculture over a long period of time and was an important development in the breeding of forage crops.

The plant was intended for use as a forage crop. At present, the variety is considered obsolete and has been removed from most official state variety registers due to its age and withdrawal from commercial production.
