The Veles variety appears in forage grass trial reports as either a diploid or tetraploid variety. In a number of European sources, the name Veles is indicated as a synonym or commercial name for the Hammon variety, while other registries classify it as a separate variety of Czech origin.

During forage crop research, parameters such as yield, winter hardiness, resistance to leaf diseases, and regrowth intensity were evaluated. Nevertheless, a detailed description of morphological traits and specific quality indicators for the variety is absent in open publications.
