The variety belongs to tetraploid forms of red clover. It is a mid-season or mid-late plant used as a forage crop, green manure, and a predecessor in crop rotation. The variety possesses biological resistance to clover rot, as well as sufficient winter hardiness and crop longevity.

The quality of the variety's produce is determined by a specific isoflavone composition and biochemical indicators of proteins and lipid components in pollen. Due to its characteristics, Vyliai is often used as a reference sample in breeding programs and scientific research on genetic diversity, despite difficulties in obtaining high seed yields.
