The IS Spirion variety is a tall plant 135–145 cm in height with good tillering capacity and medium lodging resistance, due to which the use of growth regulators is recommended under intensive cultivation technology. It belongs to mid-late or late varieties, possesses reliable winter hardiness, and exhibits high plasticity, allowing it to be grown on various soil types, including late sowing dates.
The plant is resistant to brown rust and yellow rust, and exhibits medium or above-medium resistance to powdery mildew and leaf spots. The thousand kernel weight is 37–45 g. The grain contains from 15.1 to 16.8% protein and 39–47% crude gluten.
Flour of this variety is distinguished by an increased content of yellow pigments (carotenoids), which allows its use in the production of dietary pasta and bakery products. Baking qualities are rated as good.
