Bermude is an awnless winter common wheat. The variety possesses resistance to yellow rust and carries the Pch1 gene, which protects against the pathogen causing eyespot (Cercosporella herpotrichoides). At the same time, there is a relative susceptibility to Fusarium head blight and a tendency for mycotoxin accumulation when infected by this pathogen.
The grain has medium to high hardness, characterized by a high falling number and a Zeleny sedimentation value in the range of 35–40 ml. The variety is classified as high-quality bread-making wheat and is recommended for use in the flour-milling industry. Due to its genetic properties, the variety is used in breeding programs as a donor of resistance.
