The variety belongs to the spring soft wheat group. Genetic resistance to tan spot is due to insensitivity to toxins A and B of the fungus Pyrenophora tritici-repentis.
Resistance to rust and powdery mildew is provided by the presence of the 1BL.1RS translocation and the Lr34/Yr18/Pm38/Sr57/Bdv1 gene, which also provides protection against barley yellow dwarf virus.
