The Gipsy (or Gypsy) variety is a historical type of winter soft wheat. During the period of its active use in US agriculture, it was characterized by the presence of bearded ears, white chaff, and red-colored grain.
At present, the variety is not a current breeding development and remains significant primarily as an object of historical reviews or as genetic material.
