The Gruia variety is a winter soft wheat bred at the NARDI Fundulea institute. In agronomic studies, it is classified as a high-yielding variety capable of efficiently utilizing favorable environmental conditions, while demonstrating stable results in different climatic zones.
The plant belongs to the bread-making varieties created for intensive growing conditions. Morphologically, the variety is characterized as semi-dwarf or medium-height. In field trials, the variety shows drought tolerance, however, in some studies, an increased susceptibility to leaf rust was noted.
