The variety belongs to winter types of soft wheat. Within the breeding program, the objective was to create plants with a shorter stem height compared to traditional varieties of that period, which allowed for improved lodging resistance.
The variety was widely used in breeding as a donor of genetic traits providing resistance to powdery mildew and various types of rust. During the variety development, the goal was also to achieve tolerance to Fusarium and Septoria.
