The Mission variety was classified as a wheat with high baking quality, suitable for use in the British and European markets. During 1983 field trials in the UK, the variety showed yield comparable to the Avalon variety.

The plant is characterized by susceptibility to root rots and stem base diseases. In conditions of high humidity, these diseases can lead to premature ripening and a decrease in crop yield.
