The variety was bred at the Agricultural Research Institute of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in Martonvásár. The pedigree of the variety includes the hybrid population GT 13A 305 // K1 / ZG 1477-69 / 3 // K1 / ZG 1477 // Kavkaz.

Due to the medium grain quality, the variety is recommended primarily for feed purposes. It possesses excellent resistance to stem rust and was studied for resistance to Helminthosporium pathogens.
