Variety description

10 August 2026

The spring wheat variety Reno was developed within the framework of the Norwegian breeding program started in 1959. The main objectives during its creation were to ensure early maturity, increase yield, and improve resistance to adverse agronomic factors, including pre-harvest sprouting in the ear and lodging.

The variety is adapted to northern growing conditions, which determined its morphological and economic characteristics aimed at facilitating mechanized harvesting. Detailed quantitative indicators, such as precise plant height or specific yield values, are not provided in open publications.
