Plants of the Rufia variety are tall or very tall. The grain is large and distinguished by a purple color of the seed coat. In terms of maturity group, the variety is classified as mid-late or late.
The variety possesses high resistance to deoxynivalenol accumulation upon infection with Fusarium head blight. At the same time, it shows susceptibility to powdery mildew, brown rust, and a tendency to be infested by certain aphid species.
The purpose of the variety is baking, for special use. Due to the concentration of anthocyanins in the outer layers of the grain, it is recommended for use in whole-grain processing technologies to preserve biologically active substances.
