The variety belongs to the spring wheat group adapted to northern growing conditions. The plant is characterized as tall compared to later semi-dwarf varieties.

The variety has a high capacity for protein accumulation in the grain. It is studied in the context of resistance to Septoria nodorum and Fusarium spp., as well as in research on baking quality and the composition of high-molecular-weight glutenin subunits.
