The variety belongs to the group of strong wheats intended for use in the baking industry. The crude gluten content in the grain varies from 29.6–30.5%, with softening indices of 5.6–7.3 mm, which indicates good elasticity.

Morphologically, the variety is distinguished by a tall stem compared to a number of other Bulgarian varieties. Agronomic studies note that Sadovo 552 has limited adaptability to changing environmental conditions and is inferior to modern intensive varieties in terms of yield.
