The Seka variety was obtained by crossing Srpanjka and Demetra varieties. It belongs to the group of very early or early wheat varieties and is intended for the needs of agricultural production in the Southern Pannonian Basin region.
During agronomic trials, the variety demonstrated germination and germination energy rates comparable to other Croatian winter varieties. The variety is included in breeding programs focused on high baking quality and the preservation of the functional properties of dough.
The variety was included in scientific trials for resistance to Fusarium head blight, as well as in studies of resistance to leaf rust and stem rust.
