The variety is an intensive-type winter form. The plant possesses high winter hardiness and the ability for tillering in the spring period.

Regarding diseases, the variety shows resistance to tan spot and is characterized as highly resistant to barley yellow dwarf virus. The variety has low susceptibility to common bunt.
