The variety is a tetraploid wheat (28 chromosomes) of the leucomelan variety. The plant is characterized by a tall stem and spindle-shaped spikes with an average length of about 7 cm. The awns have a characteristic color: black at the base with yellowish-reddish tips; they are straight, long, and sharp.
The caryopsis has an oval shape with a heart-shaped cross-section, a length of about 8 mm, and an amber color with a semi-vitreous texture. The heading period of the variety is rated as medium. Scientific studies record an increased content of free soluble flavonoids in the grain composition.
