The variety belongs to the old relic cultivars of Cyprus, traditionally cultivated by farmers, particularly in the semi-mountainous regions of the Paphos vineyards. Activities related to the preservation of the variety are linked to the Cyprus Agricultural Research Institute.

The variety is poorly adapted to mechanized harvesting. Publications lack detailed agronomic descriptions, such as precise plant height, maturity group, or grain quality indicators. Currently, the variety is of value primarily as a genetic resource for biodiversity conservation.
