The variety is a population (landrace) belonging to the category of conservation varieties. The plant is characterized by a tall stem and early maturity. Historically, the variety was used as a catch crop, which was sown in the spring when autumn sowing was not possible.

The grain has a dark color. Whole grain flour is distinguished by a grayish hue and a specific aroma with notes of hazelnut and coffee. Technological properties include a high level of protein with a relatively low gluten index, which facilitates the digestibility of the products. The variety shows high drought tolerance and is suitable for organic farming.

Given that the variety is a product of folk selection, it does not possess the genetic uniformity of modern line varieties, and its morphological and qualitative indicators may vary depending on growing conditions.
