The variety is a local landrace that was historically cultivated in the Thrace and Central Macedonia regions. The plant is a spring crop and does not require vernalization: sowing is carried out in mid-autumn, flowering occurs in April, and harvesting takes place in early July.

The plant has a high ability to compete with weeds and exhibits resistance to adverse abiotic and biotic factors. The variety is considered suitable for low-input cultivation technologies and the organic sector.

The grain is characterized by a high content of alkylresorcinols. Products from this variety are used in the production of dietary foods, including whole-grain flour and snacks, and occupy a niche market due to their organoleptic properties.
