Matchpoint tulip belongs to the class of fringed tulips. The plant is a perennial with a strong flower stalk from 40 to 60 cm in height. The large cup-shaped flower has a height of 8–10 cm and a diameter that can reach 11–12 cm. The color of the petals varies from deep raspberry-pink to purple-lilac, and the petal edges are decorated with a contrasting white needle-like fringe.

Mid-season flowering variety, the main period occurs in April–May. It possesses high winter hardiness (USDA zone 3) and is undemanding in care, however, it requires soils without water stagnation and has medium resistance to diseases. The variety is suitable for forcing, flower bed design, creating landscape compositions, and use in professional floristry.
