The variety is intended to provide resistance to grape phylloxera and adapt the vine to dry and calcareous soils with active lime content up to 17%. The bushes are vigorous, with shoot lengths up to 4.5 meters. The flower is of the male type, therefore the variety does not form clusters and does not bear fruit.
The plant possesses high resistance to major fungal diseases and drought, but performs poorly in heavy and waterlogged soils. Leaves are small, kidney-shaped, entire, with a wine-red tint at the vein bases. The growing season is long, which may delay the ripening of the vine and the scion fruits; the rooting of cuttings is difficult.
