The variety is a vigorous rootstock that imparts high growth energy to grafted varieties. Leaves are small, kidney-shaped, almost entire, often curved upwards; young leaves have a reddish hue. Flower type is male; fruit bearing is of no economic importance.
The rootstock possesses high resistance to phylloxera and fungal diseases. The root system is powerful, deep-penetrating, and capable of withstanding up to 17% active lime in the soil. The variety exhibits moderate drought tolerance, tolerates waterlogging poorly, and demonstrates difficulties with magnesium uptake.
