The Gebas variety, also known by the breeding code MC98, is a product of the breeding program of the Murcian Institute of Agri-Food Research and Development (IMIDA). The plant is characterized by high phenolic maturity, exceeding the indicators of the parent varieties, and an average level of proline accumulation.

One of the key goals of breeding the variety is the creation of material resistant to the negative consequences of climate change and high temperatures. The variety is authorized for use in winemaking, and the peculiarities of its ripening allow for staged harvesting.
