The variety is an ancient autochthonous grape that originated from a natural cross between Traminer and Österreichisch Weiß. It belongs to early-ripening varieties, which reduces the risk of crop damage by autumn frosts, although it is sensitive to low temperatures itself.

The plant forms small to medium, dense cylindrical clusters. The berries are medium-sized, round in shape, and light green in color with characteristic brown speckles. The variety is considered undemanding to soils, although deep soils are required to obtain a high-quality harvest.

Wine from this variety is distinguished by a delicate bouquet with tones of green apple, pear, and peach, as well as mineral and herbal shades. It is characterized by regular yields and a high dependence of organoleptic properties on terroir and yield control.
