The variety is a color mutation of Garnacha Tinta and is historically associated with the Aragon region of Spain. The plant is vigorous and possesses a powerful root system. The leaf is rounded, five-lobed, slightly dissected, with no noticeable pubescence on the underside. The flower is hermaphroditic.

The clusters are medium or small, conical in shape, and of medium density. Small round berries have a grayish-pink or copper-pink hue with a thick waxy bloom. Due to its thin skin, the variety is susceptible to rot in high humidity, has low resistance to frost and fungal diseases, but tolerates drought well.

A wine variety used for the production of white and rosé wines or in blends. The wines are characterized by fruity notes of cherry, raspberry, and exotic fruits, low acidity, and high potential alcohol content.
