The variety belongs to wine grape varieties and is used for creating dry, dessert, and fortified wines. The plant is a vine requiring training and pruning, and exhibits moderate resistance to fungal diseases, as well as a tendency toward unstable yields.

The leaf is medium-sized, predominantly five-lobed. Clusters are medium or large in size, conical or cylindrical in shape, and moderately loose. Berries are medium-sized, round, dark violet or black in color, with firm flesh and thick skin.
