Giro Negre is a traditional local grape variety of the Vitis vinifera L. species, common in Mallorca. In modern agronomy, it is classified as a minor variety, representing interest for the conservation of biodiversity and the adaptation of winemaking to climate change.

The variety belongs to wine grape cultivars intended for the production of red wines with good titratable acidity indicators. In terms of maturity, Giro Negre is classified as a very early variety, reaching maturity around August 25.

The yield of the variety is estimated as medium, amounting to 500–600 grams per shoot. Research on this variety includes the study of its susceptibility to downy mildew to determine the ecological sustainability of the crop.
