The variety is a local cultivar preserved in the Canary Islands, whose vineyards were not affected by the phylloxera epidemic in the 19th century. Currently, the variety is undergoing processes of study, sanitation, and registration as a commercial variety for use in winemaking.

This variety is considered an important genetic resource for the region's winemaking sector. Detailed agronomic characteristics, such as maturity group or disease resistance, have not yet been published, as research is at the stage of morphological and genetic characterization.
