The variety is native to the Loire Valley. The leaves are round, almost entire, and three- or five-lobed. The flowers are hermaphroditic. The bunches are small, conical or cylindrical-conical in shape, and dense or medium-dense. The berries are small, golden in hue, and covered with a thin waxy bloom.
The plant is characterized by high yield. It is noted for low frost resistance and weak resistance to fungal diseases, including high susceptibility to grey mold. It is used to create full-bodied white wines with characteristic fruity and spicy notes.
