Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety is indigenous to the Thessaly region, Greece, and is cultivated in the vicinity of Mount Olympus. The vine is vigorous; the leaf is five-lobed, medium-deeply incised, with an open lyre-shaped petiole sinus. The clusters are medium-sized, conical, and dense. The berries are blue-black, round, and medium-sized.

The variety matures in medium or late timeframes and is prone to flower shedding. Susceptibility to downy mildew is noted. Wine from this variety is distinguished by a deep ruby color, moderate tannins, high content of extractive substances and alcohol, as well as pronounced aromas of dark berries, leather, and spices.
