Variety description

10 August 2026

Nascetta is an autochthonous variety of the Piedmont region, with the first records dating back to the end of the 19th century. The variety belongs to the early-mid maturity group: bud burst occurs in February, flowering in June, and harvest in mid-September.

The plant is considered difficult to cultivate, is prone to flower drop, and yields can vary significantly. Typically, the Guyot training system or mixed systems with 10–12 buds per shoot are used. The berries are white, medium-sized, and spheroidal in shape.

Wines from this variety possess good structure, pronounced acidity, and minerality. The bouquet features notes of acacia, citrus, apple, herbs, and tropical fruits, and the taste is often accompanied by a light almond undertone.
