The variety is of Romanian origin from the Maderat region (Minis-Maderat). The plant has vigorous growth and belongs to the late ripening group. The variety demonstrates resistance to Botrytis and frost down to -18°C, however, it is susceptible to downy mildew and powdery mildew.

The grapes are used in winemaking for the production of white wines, sparkling wines, and brandy. Wines from this variety are characterized by freshness, high acidity, and an aromatic profile with notes of citrus, green apples, quince, stone fruits, and white flowers. Previously, the production of dessert wines using the appassimento method was practiced.
