The variety is a wine grape and is used to create light, neutral-tasting white wines with low alcohol content and possible herbal notes. In a historical context, the variety was widely distributed in the regions of Banat and modern-day Hungary, Serbia, Croatia, and Romania.
The plant belongs to the group of late-ripening varieties. It possesses good resistance to winter frosts, drought, and a high degree of protection against grey mold. The berries have a characteristic pinkish or reddish skin hue, and the leaves are sometimes compared in shape to those of a linden tree.
