This clone is not an independent hybrid, but a breeding selection of the base variety Zweigelt, obtained by crossing the varieties Kékfrankos and Saint Laurent. The designation E.11 indicates the place of origin of the clone — the city of Eger.
The clone belongs to wine grape varieties used for the production of red wines. Its agronomic and morphological characteristics generally correspond to the traits of the parent variety Zweigelt, which is characterized by vigorous vine growth and moderate shoot positioning.
