Adult weevils feed on Heuchera leaves at night, leaving characteristic notched edges on the leaf blades. Although this damage is primarily aesthetic, it serves as a signal of the pest's presence in the area.

The larvae pose a critical threat to Heuchera, living in the soil and feeding on the roots and the base of the rosette. Infested plants wilt suddenly, and in cases of severe root system damage, the rosette can be easily pulled away from the substrate.

Heuchera cultivars do not possess specific genetic resistance to this pest. While high leaf pubescence may reduce the plant's attractiveness to adults, it does not protect the root system from the destructive impact of the larval stage.
