Container cultivation for Spanish lavender is the primary method for maintaining the plant, as the species lacks sufficient winter hardiness. Using pots allows for moving the plants to protected areas with temperatures no lower than 5–7°C and good lighting during the winter period, which prevents death from frost.

For this species, drainage is critical to prevent root waterlogging, to which the plant is extremely sensitive. It is recommended to use terracotta pots and a mixture of compost with gravel or sand in a 50:50 ratio, watering the plant only after the top layer of soil has dried out.
