The flowering duration of Kalanchoe is measured by the interval from the opening of the first buds to the loss of the plant's decorative appeal. For modern breeding forms, such as the 'Kalandiva' group, a period of 8 to 10 weeks is considered a high indicator, while flowering of less than 4–6 weeks is recognized as commercially unviable. Flowering abundance is determined by the total number of peduncles, the number of flowers per inflorescence, and the density of buds forming thick 'caps' that completely hide the foliage.

These traits are strictly genetically determined and sensitive to agrotechnical factors. As a short-day plant, Kalanchoe requires strict adherence to a 14–15-hour dark period to ensure abundance indicators. A temperature regime above +24°C at the beginning of the cycle causes thermal delay, which reduces the number of buds, while high humidity in dense inflorescences provokes the development of gray mold, prematurely shortening the flowering period.
