Lolium perenne L.
The productivity of perennial ryegrass is a complex indicator evaluated by the yield of green mass, dry matter, feed units, and seeds per unit area.

For forage purposes, productivity is measured by the harvest of green mass and dry matter, expressed in t/ha, as well as energy value in t f.u./ha. Records are taken at the full heading stage for the first cut and as regrowth occurs for subsequent cycles. Seed productivity is determined by the mass of seeds harvested from a unit area or from an individual plant in nurseries.
Under experimental conditions, typical green mass yield rates are 15–21 t/ha, and dry matter yield is 6–7 t/ha. In variety trials, an essential indicator is the yield superiority of a new variety over the standard by 10–40%. Overall productivity directly affects the intensity of sward utilization, grazing efficiency, and the competitiveness of the variety within grass mixtures.
