To assess the potential of eggplant, structural indicators are used: the total number of fruits per bush and the weight of an individual fruit. Under intensive irrigated farming conditions, a yield of 42–46 t/ha with a load of 6–7 fruits per plant weighing about 220 g is considered good productivity. In protected ground when grown on substrates, the performance of intensive-type hybrids can reach 45–50 kg/m².

During variety testing, varieties that exceed the standard yield indicators by 8–10% are recognized as highly productive. Realization of this trait requires intensive agrotechnologies, such as drip irrigation and strict adherence to planting schemes, and is closely linked to the crop's resistance to abiotic and biotic stresses that affect the preservation of the marketable yield.
