Variety traits
Anethum graveolens L.
An indicator of dill productivity, evaluated separately for green biomass and spices. The yield level depends on the cultivar type, ability to form stems, and agronomic conditions.
In the reference 10 varieties crop Dill, where this is mentioned in the description.
For dill, yield is measured in kg/m² or t/ha and is determined by the field trial method through sampling from experimental plots. When evaluating cultivars, the weight of the marketable part of the plant is taken into account: for cultivars with multiple harvests, the mass of all cuttings over the growing season is summed up.
Yield indicators for green biomass range from 0.7–2.0 kg/m² for standard cultivars to 2.5–5.4 kg/m² for intensive bush forms, while spice harvesting during the flowering phase can reach 2.5–6.7 kg/m². Productivity is limited by photoperiodism: rapid stem elongation shortens the green harvest period.
The final indicator is significantly influenced by the cultivar type, where bush forms with delayed flower stalk development have an advantage due to the formation of lateral shoots. An optimal temperature regime of 15–20°C and sufficient moisture are critical factors for preventing premature tissue coarsening.
