The yield structure of triticale is based on spike productivity indicators, such as the number of grains per spike and their weight, as well as the density of the productive stand. The crop possesses a high biological potential due to a well-developed leaf apparatus and the ability to form up to 50–60 spikelets per spike, which significantly exceeds the indicators of wheat.
Yield levels vary within a wide range: from average values of 27–28 c/ha under production conditions to 80 c/ha or more under intensive cultivation technologies. To produce 1 ton of grain, it is necessary to apply 25 to 50 kg of nitrogen, 12–16 kg of phosphorus, and 26–40 kg of potassium, with moisture availability during the stages from stem elongation to grain filling having a critical impact on the final indicator.
