When assessing Pelargonium plant height, measurements are taken at the marketable stage, recording the distance from the soil surface to the highest point of the vegetative part of the plant. Depending on the cultivar group, compact forms reaching 20–30 cm are distinguished, as well as medium-tall and tall varieties, which can reach 60 cm or more.
Plant height acts as a determining parameter when selecting container volume and assessing the need for shaping techniques. Excessive vertical development often indicates suboptimal growing conditions, while for marketable Zonal Pelargonium seedlings, an optimal height is considered to be 17–20 cm.
