The transition to substrate-based growing systems using peat mixtures or mineral wool makes it possible to eliminate soil-borne pathogens such as Fusarium and Pythium, as well as to ensure precise fertigation for controlling stem and inflorescence quality. Intensive methods involve strictly regulated pinching and disbudding to obtain uniform batches of produce.
