The fruits have a short cylindrical or obovate shape, their weight ranges from 60 to 110 g, reaching a maximum of 130 g. A distinctive feature is the presence of radially diverging red lines in the flesh around the central part.

The plant is a dioecious deciduous vine that requires the use of trellises. The variety is early-maturing, with harvest taking place at the end of August. The fruits have a high vitamin C content, ranging from 135.77 to 250 mg per 100 g of fresh weight.

The variety has industrial importance and is widely cultivated in China. Like other representatives of the species, the plant is sensitive to climatic conditions and is susceptible to a number of fungal, bacterial, and viral diseases that can reduce yield.
