The Hongyang variety (RS1) was selected from wild seedlings. The fruits are obovate in shape, weighing 60–70 g, with dark green or greenish-brown fuzzy skin. The flesh is yellow with a red ring around a white core. The plant is female, medium-sized, and requires male plants for pollination.

The Red Passion variety (RS1) is early-maturing and highly productive, although it is sensitive to Pseudomonas syringae pv. actinidiae and requires cultivation under cover.
